What’s The Process Like?
How are your goals accomplished, and what skills make me unique in a world filled with educators? To put it simply, my background. Not only have I worked with kids of varying ages, I’ve successfully tutored children with all sorts of behaviors, educational levels, and accessibility to resources as well. I take the tools your child has, and enhance them through getting to know their strengths, and giving them the confidence to confront and overcome their challenges.
1. Pre-School: New To learning
I’ll learn what your child’s likes & dislikes are, and how to utilize them to make learning a fun, loving, structured yet playful process.
2. Elementary School: Struggling To Keep Up
Let’s find the barriers and break through them, while building confidence to strive. Reading comprehension strategies, English grammar brush ups (gotta know those ubiquitous parts-of-speech), and ways to pinpoint and recall the relevant information all serve as the groundwork to learn.
3. Middle School/High School
Writing skills are predominant at this point in the education process, so grammar, reading, and a structured style are needed to be persuasive, prove a theory, and produce a point of view.
4. Special Education
Behavioral issues must be addressed through positive reinforcement, breaks when needed, and an innate ability to home in on the differences causing obstacles, and build confidence to overcome any cognitive delays which may be the root of the discrepancy. Developing a rapport, and having fun are key models to success!
5. Accent Reduction
What are you trying to say? Let’s break it down, phonetically, in a linguistic sense, and create language that is not devoid of an accent, but articulated as such that can be understood and appreciated for its unique tone and character.

About Me
I began teaching in 2000, and found my years as a camp counselor, babysitter, tennis teacher, and nanny served as exceptional pavement to a world guiding youths into knowledge with a fun, individualistic, and upbeat style. The importance of developing a relatable rapport with each and every student is integral, as who wants to learn from Charlie Brown’s teacher? Learning should be structured and goal orientated, yet filled with curiosity, zest, joy, and a mutual respect for both each other and the task at hand. I’ve worked with pre-school through high school- aged students, in a myriad of socio-economic statuses, thus providing a unique ability to identify needs and strategies for success expeditiously. For elementary, I specialize in phonics, reading, writing, and comprehension skills, while with high school students, I’m able to transcend my own writing structure and style to producing persuasive, inquisitive, and compassionate essay writing for both in-class assignments and college essay exam and application proficiency. I love what I do, and the success of my students is incredibly fulfilling..
“Our son needed help with his college essays, especially with his paragraph structures and persuasive language. Lizzie created a work flow for him to be proficient and prove his point effectively. Fingers crossed on his admissions, but he’s already waitlisted at a college we thought his writing skills would never let him consider.”

“Lizzie started teaching my daughter phonics from an early age when we had some behavior issues, and she was able to focus our girl and make her love learning!“

Testimonials
“We hired Lizzie when our daughter switched to private middle school, and needed help with a tougher curriculum. Lizzie was able to establish a support system and structure that she needed to thrive in her new accelerated environment.”
~Don P.
“I grew up in Korea, and people could not understand me. Lizzie made it very simple for me to hear the sounds I needed to improve on. I now do marketing presentations for international companies weekly on zoom and I have confidence that I am being understood. It’s a relief to say the least!“
~Lisa C.
“Our daughter is autistic, and had difficulty focusing and producing simple sentences. Lizzie’s experience really was apparent, as she knew pretty much right away the strategies we needed to support her at home, yet not too much where she was completely dependent on us. Her behaviors improved, we had less tantrums, and Lizzie was so sweet and fun to work with!”
~John J.
